cab swap - now no power in cab

Long story short swaped cabs 95 f250 truck with a 92 f150 cab. swaped dash boards along with wiring harness. Only thing that i left was the power door amd window harness.
when i first tried it everything seemed to work. 10 sec later everything died.

now the switchs are controling everything but what they are suppose to. when key is off service engine light comes on.
blower switch turns the glove box light on.
will not crank

Any ideas???????? already replaced key switch checked wireing over and over. all fuses have 12v inside and outside fuse boxs

Grounds recheck all of your grounds and then check again. If everything looks good and you want to eliminate that as a possibility add a few ground straps.

I will try that thank you - guess I should add the wiring harness in the donor cab worked. The blower lights on dash all the Windows ect. But had some minor issues so swapped it to rule that out....

But I will check grounds along with add more grounds

There are three or four small ones that I seen this weekend when I was under my truck. They are just clipped on to the cab mount on the frame and clipped to the cab. get some sand paper or wire wheel clean up some spots and put some dielectric grease on it and snap the ground straps on.

Typically there are wiring changes from year to year as well as engine type. This means you cannot simply unplug a cab from a donor then do plug-n-play to the patient.

You need a wiring diagram for each one to figure what pins need to be moved.

I am seeing lots of repsonces to ground issues I am going to adress that as soon as I can and see what happens.

With the wiring I have swapped the entire harness from my matching truck to the donor - the only wires that I left where the power Windows and locks anything that went directly to the firewall I have swapped out. All of the wires should match

Have you checked the relays under the hood? Look for anything scorched, blown, etc. Any 'smokey' smells coming from anywhere? Checking the grounds is solid advice..check & double-check them.then clean them & check again!

some update

Okay I checked the grounds and so forth - now the fuel pump will cycle with the key. CEL comes on with the key. Also the dashboard back lights work when the key is turned to the crank postion. Truck will not crank though. Also one time I was able to turn the key switch very lightly and get the blower to turn on. Now I cannot (2 key switchs so far, plus the original)

Now the lights will not turn on with the key switch. I have checked all fuses and swapped relays just to see what happens no luck there

I will check my grounds again - even add'ed some. I thought it would be easy after i swapped the harness's. I think putting the cab back on was easier then figuring this out.

I will say i made progress in the sense that, when something works it is working. What i mean is i am no longer turning the glove box light on with the blower switch. So i may have somewhere have a bad connection or weird wire connection. Things are just not working, there at least not doing things they shouldn't be.

Any more advice is more then welcome!

BTW Thank you very much for the help so far!

Is the rod from the key switch moving all the way in the box on the steering column when you try to start it?

Thank you!

Now it will start, runs lights work on the dash and the blower all works.
Radio is still dead though
Also the turn signals are screwy BUT none of the lights are hooked up.

It was all ground issue's!!!!

Far as the radio I have power to it, I ran a ground from the ground wire and still nothing (aftermarket radio)
