It's beginning to look like it.
If camping at Zilpo, there is a shooting range at nearby Clear Creek. There is a fee to shoot, but it's $5 or $6, depending on the time of year. There is camping at Clear Creek as well, I just mentioned Zilpo because it's a little nicer and right on the lake.

Zilpo is a nice area. I won't be up for a camping trip until late summer or fall. Unless you guys want to follow me out to CO.
Rudy needs a break after pulling the J20 up on the trailer last weekend. Was going to make a weekend in the mountains but rain made me come back home the day we got it loaded.
This is the last camping trip back in Oct. at Shades State Park in IN We had guys from KY,MI,WI, MO and IL show up. Had to keep the rain sprinkles from getting the sleeping bag and covers wet.Rudy is up in there somewhere.

So where is everyone from? Some have their local in their posts, I like that.
How about some suggestions from everyone.
Where you would like to have this.
Wife/family and dogs coming.
Just a weekender/ Full week.
Time of year works best for you.
Below is some info, just to get you thinking.....
If it gets too organized you will need permits. So keeping it unofficial non sanctioned get together works best. Unless you want to go for an event type thing. First time we had our meet at Cave Run Lake we called trying to get a bunch of spots together. They wanted permits for a meet. We then just found an area with sites available together and each booked at the same time to secure them as individuals. They questioned some of us at the gate house when 4 of us old Jeeps showed at once by dumb luck. Same deal with the meet I'm going to in CO this July. We do have the KOA owners save us a whole back section of their campground for us to individually reserve BUT we keep it unofficial because they wanted permits for groups to be trail riding in the mountains.
Last meet Midwest Jeep Meet we had about 12 total people show up all but one were new face to face meets although I've known a few of them for years online. Had a great time just hanging out. Everyone brought lots of food and had a feast. The CO is alot larger with about 50 plus people and it is in the middle of the week to allow people from far away time to get there and then time to get back home in a weeks time off from work. Most everyone spends the day out riding in the mountains someones is always spending a day at camp and there is always lots of good eats and stories and mostly what else, talk about our old trucks. Lots of stuff to keep the family busy in the towns when they don't want to hang off a mountain cliff.
Enough babble... on with the show....
I myself am from the northern tip of KY 50 yr old,and will have my Boston Terrier Rudy with me. He is a very quiet dog and loves everyone but me. He is compatible with other dogs/cats. I sleep in the back of the truck sometimes with the cap on sometimes without. I like electric where I camp, but can do without. I don't/can't do any hikes anymore. I love to drive and sight see. Most times when camping I just hang at the campground. I may drink a few beers but usually it's a Coke. My daily life is work non stop it seams and I take advantage of being away from work and mostly the work around the house, and just wind down.
I'm willing to drive anywhere for a campout. Prefer doing them in cooler weather. Hot humid bug filled nights are not my idea of fun.

It sounds like you're up around John, in Melbourne.
If you look in the stickies on the Chapter page, you'll see the general conduct handbook and the members map and get a better picture of where everyone's at.
I can hike, but I'm slow. I get hot extremely fast and then my back has its' own laundry list of issues; But I'll hike anywhere.
I'm generally pretty free, and am roughly 50 miles from Morehead, from Salyersville.
Ken, John and I held a meet at the Camp Mckee area, and it was great. Just us 3 guys, but hey, more food for us!
If you want, I'll start a new thread for JUST the camping meets, etc.
