My '77 F-350 SC CS bought sight-unseen Craigslist find

While I was waiting for this truck to arrive, I would check Craigslist for parts. I scored a perfect front bumper with the correct bumper guards and pads.
Last week, I drove to Tyler, TX and picked it up, along with a RH read tail lamp bezel and the piece of racetrack I need. g
The bumper is in very nice shape, but has some rust on the back side. I will soak it in EvapoRust before I install it.
These trim parts are in basically nice shape, but the finish is cloudy. I will polish them up before I put them on.

Back in '09, I purchased a '72 Buick wagon from Clovis, CA, and now I have my F-350 from Barstow. I had the Buick transported to Dallas, and while I was working on it the first few months, I would notice these spider webs underneath it. I would always work on it wearing latex gloves, and was glad when I discovered what was making those webs...western black widow spiders. I found two, but I think there was at least one more. I would see the tell-tale tangled webs often.
Fast forward to today with my new California F-350. I've been using a degreaser on the engine and underside, and while laying underneath it spraying solution toward the rear end, I noticed the unmistakable messy looking web and then a black widow spider coming down the web from the LH leaf spring and tire area. They are quite distinctive looking, and very reclusive during the day. I'm sure I had disturbed it with my spraying. I wish I had my camera with me, because it would have been a cool pic.
I'm sure she is hunkered down somewhere up in the frame or springs, and now that it is dark, is probably doing her thing, hanging upside down waiting for dinner. I will have to keep an eye out for her. I've named her Elvira.

I love western survivors........that's a nice truck and a nice story.
I just cut up a 77 SC 150 but I saved everything, so if you need any little parts, feel free to PM me and I'll see if I have them.
I couldn't tell if that was a Vista Cruiser or a Pacer in front of this truck, but I think from an earlier post you said it was a 72 Buick wagon?

When I first got this truck, I thought I would clean it up, I tried to vacuum the carpet and it came apart in this area.
I was a little nervous about what that might mean about the floors.
I took the carpet up to check the floors out and get ready for new carpet.
I was relieved with what I found underneath that bad spot. I thought I took a pic of the floor exactly as it was when I lifted the carpet, but it didn't turn out.
The jute mat had left a cruddy black stain where it got wet. I used thinner to remove the crud and paint, and then scrubbed the metal with metal conditioner.
Turned out very nice.
I like this heat shield. I wish it wasn't funky where it got wet.
This is the driver's side. Amazingly perfect. Whew!
All in all, a good day.
