Thanks for the info Mike. I'm hoping you are right on the old pump. Hopefully all goes well next trip. I suppose I better get me a decent oil pressure gauge too.

Glad things turned out to be OK Darin. I wouldn't get too worried about the gauge readings being a few lbs off. These gauges aren't certified and they can be different, even the same model. Your readings are right there with me and Glenn's. I'd say your good to go.

Thanks Chris. I should say the gauge I used this time was OLD. I could have taken one out of dad's race car means its not running this year, but I found this one in a drawer so tried it out. Who knows how accurate it is, it's been around for I'd say 30+ years.

Well, I finally used the truck again yesterday. I now have a new gauge and lpop. My oil pressure now is exactly what Glenn's is on the highway. I varied from 200-220 temp, and was at 48-49lbs, running 70. Hot idle was a little higher, at 25-26.

This trip was the easy one as far as my race trips go. Half as far and a lot less hills, but it worked good, so I'm happy.

Thanks guys. Took a picture of it today before I unloaded. Still needs a paint job, but looks pretty good and works real well for me.

Thanks a nice looking setup Darin!

This is a cheap rake I bought, as least it gives you something to tie ropes to.

Thanks for the comments and link Glenn. I bookmarked the rack. Once I get my new toolbox, air tank for the york, and water meth in the box there isn't going to be any room for tires so I'm gonna need something like that I think. I don't know how soon I'll get the water meth in, hopefully this coming winter, but we'll see how many other projects I decide to do. The air tank and toolbox will be done this coming winter for sure.

My cooling mist set up is in SD, in the fall when I'm there I'm tempted to take it to AZ and set it up again.

There are quite a few benefits for sure. Running cooler, more power, and clean burning. I'm gonna get a snowmist towmax kit. I noticed Clay carries them, so I'll get one from him whenever I decide to.

Hope your problem is fixed for good Darin. I dont think i have ever read about the lpop getting weak. I havent had any oil problems with mine, but i dont pull like you and Glenn. I have a lpo gauge, but never really documented any readings. I am curious now. Have you guys seen the large hpop reasavoir that riff raff makes and sells?

No, I wouldn't think it would be necessary unless maybe you were running duals but IDK.

Thanks Gabe. It happens, though not real often I don't think. I do put more strain on it than most. I'd guess it would be fine in almost any usage, but when it came to really working its just no up to par anymore.

I've never seen or heard of the larger res. Should go peek at that I suppose. I assume its on his site?

Yeah its on his site. And you are right Glenn, it says for big single pump or duels. Comes in blue Darin, it would match pretty good.
