I could really use some help 2000 f250 diesel
Hello everyone, I am new to the community and this is my first diesel truck. I previously owned a gas f250.
I recently bought this truck, it ran well but I have encountered a few problems. It is not plated so I dont drive it until I have the truck all done.
The truck currently has the red oil light and red coolant light showing. The oil pressure gauge is also below the bottom line. I cant figure out why... The truck runs and sounds great, in fact I did a complete oil change to see if that would fix the problem. I took it for a spin around the block and nothing changed. I also plan on having the coolant flushed soon, when I get paid.
The abs light is also on but after driving it around I am not sure why that is on either it doesn't feel like the hubs are bad while driving.
IF someone could help me with these problems it would be greatly appreciated, I am really looking forward to getting the truck on the road, its something I have wanted for a long time.

The oil pressure issue is just a bad sending unit, The 7.3 has a high pressure and a low pressure oil pump. The HPOP is supplied by the Low pressure pump. If the Low pressure failed then the truck would not have oil supplied to the HPOP to fire the injectors.
If the truck is running fine then the LPOP and HPOP are fine, just replace the sending unit.

It is more than likely Ford Gold coolant which is good stuff. 7.3's can run any color coolant but the green needs to be maintained with an additive to prevent air bubbles and pitting of the aluminum parts.
Personally I would run an ELC coolant like dello or Rotella. Give it a good flush, install a coolant filter use ELC and your coolant is no longer a worry for 500,000+ miles.

Something pretty strange just happened. I went outside and turned the truck on just to see if it would start because the battery was dead yesterday. Now I turn it on, it fired right up, the red lights are off, the oil gauge is working and everything seems fine. Its pretty weird, I will see how it goes.

Has it been raining by you lately or lots of moisture in the air?
