Well im doing this all by myself and there was enough clearence. My step dad has been busy lately so if i dont have to ask for his help i dont. So im pretty sure it would have been kinda of diffcult to do that by myself hood is prob like 150 plus pounds.

Make some locating holes, or marks before you remove the hood, so in re-assembly you can go back to your marks.

Gotcha!

Got the intake and the heads off.

Water pump is still on cause i broke two stubborn old bolts. ill get it off tonight. Other then that everything looks good other then one of the cylinders has a scratch in it. Pistons are stamped 40 over so thats nice!

Got the lifters taking out, all of them were smooth.
Got the oil pan off

Not sure why but whoever was in this motor last put the pistons in a werid order went from 1 to 3 to 4 it was all mixed up Not sure why.

Timing chain looks good.

Got the water pump off still gonna have to deal with those studs. Put some bp blaster on it last night so gonna have to fight those things out might have to tig weld a bolt on them and see if i can get them to turn. Got the harmonic balancer off seal is going bad there. But no groves in it.

Got all the ridges cut out as well.
Almost close to having this thing down to the block.
We are all kids at heart we still play with blocks!!

ATF and Acetone is better than any store bought
Panther **** by far. And a hell of a lot cheaper.
Mix it 50/50

Since im not going to re-use the cover i just grinded and broke the case and then the studs turned out. I got it down to the block well crank and cam are still in it. All the bearings are worn out. Kinda looks like who ever did the last rebuild didnt do a clean rebuild that or some dirt or something got into the intake but i dought it since i havent even been driving it. But i got a question is it safe to go .060 over and also the crank was turned .010 on the main and connectors Would it be safe to get it turn .020 I think a hone on the block might be good enough to take care of the little scratch which would be good that way i can re-use the pistons. But ive heard different things about going .060 over Some say it might run into heating problems. Just looking for some advice from you experts, thanks in advance.

Are you asking 60 over for the crank or the bore?
Thought you said the bore just needed a hone?
Some blocks will take 60 and some wont. Have it
sonic tested. Turning the crank down would have
nothing to do with it overheating. But that much
in the bore sure could. Splain yerself Lucy.

Yeah i was just asking about the .060 on the bored. Im not 100 percent sure if a hone will do it so thats why im asking. I know the crank being turned wont cause heat problems lol. I am in a debate in my mind on what i want to do. Might pick up a crown vic on govdeals if the bid doesnt go to high and use the 4.6 and then ill be able to use the front suspension and lower the truck.
