so I'm just playing devil's advocate here but if mobile one is a synthetic ATF and red line is also synthetic and they both have the same certifcations on the bottle for the testing done wouldn't they be as qualified as MerconV if it means the same stringent specifications... If it says works on merconV on the bottle shouldn't I work as well

Just for the sake of comparisons, I drive a tanker truck and I haul a lot of automotive and household goods like oil, antifreeze, fabric softener, laundry detergent, etc and I am in the plants every day. You would be surprised how many of them put a product in a name brand bottle and charge $10 and then put the exact same product in a store brand bottle and charge $5. I stay away from those brands you mentioned just because of the price, but I do prefer Mobil1 and motorcraft for my oils.

is the mobile 1 syn blend any good? Mobil 1 full syn is a significant more money.. is it worth the extra for the full syn vs the syn blend

Any synthetic blend of anything is a rip off. Just get Motorcraft Mercon V.

So you are working for him now?

If money is no object then use expensive ATF, it's your tranny. Also pay the extra for a business to build your transmission so you have legal rights to go back for warranty.

I'm with ya.
They build Interstate batteries here in my home town and guy I know work's there, said Walmart batteries come off the same line ,just different sticker's are applied.
Also, took my 2007 F 350 to dealer for oil change and fuel filter replacement some month's ago.
Was prepared for about forty dollar charge but it was closer to $70.00.Upon looking at the bill,I noticed a nearly thirty dollar charge for Motorcraft fuel filter. C'mon,, is motorcraft fuel filter that much better than cheaper filter??
