That's the truth...I was in Alberta in August, with my F150 missing and skipping a beat all the way there (from Vancouver), and if the dealer had been willing to bargain in the least, I'd have driven home in a new Ruby Red. Then I wanted an Ingot Silver, then it was the White Platinum, of course until I saw the Green Gem, not many of the them around here...

The last three new trucks I have bought have been some variation of Dark Torreador Red or Royal Red Metallic. I also had a 94 Bronco that was two tone with the burgundy/red as the primary color, my first vehicle was a burgundy/white Chevy Blazer and you can see the color of the wife's Jeep in my avatar. She gave me grief when I ordered the same color on the 2011 and then she goes out 2 years later and chooses it as her color! I actually considered dark blue, but couldn't resist the deep red color.

As I now contemplate a new dually, Blue Jeans is a top contender. My brother has started looking at F450s and I know Gem Green will be his color since his 2011 is dark green. I can't do Ruby Red because my neighbor has a 2013 in that color and he is usually the one that copies me. I really wish they would bring back the Dark Shadow Grey.

Matt......The Blue Jeans is really great !! I think the two-tone is sharp.

Keep me posted Navy. Some lovely spots up here in New England, especially this time of year. Leaves are in full fall color. Army would love to host!

Here's a sample from where we are camping now.

Thomas......
Do you know what the actual Pin Weight is for your 5th wheel? I am curious, I just recently found that mine is 4,300 lbs. This is more than I should be doing with my SRW truck. New F-350 dually on order.....

Roy,

3340 pin weight. I was overweight with my 08 350 4x4 SRW SCAB. I believe I would have just been underweight with a 13 350 4x2 SRW SCAB, but just. Add anything like my 3000ISEB generator and I was over. Thus for $500, I opted for a DRW. Now I have capacity to spare (about 2500 lbs to spare).

Been very happy with the DRW. It does pick up more road jostle, but to be expected with 2 more tires back there.

The highs outweigh the lows.

Good luck with your new DRW. Hope you love it. I do mine.

What is your experience with the dual rear tires in the winter snow?

I am afraid I cannot help you there. My truck is a dedicated trailer hauler. It sits in the garage from November to April. The trailer is located at a local county fairground, indoor storage for the winter.

Michigan winter salting just eats our vehicles alive. We hope to have this truck for at least 15 years.

Andre, selling the quads?! You'll miss them. Just take a break and come back to it or you'll be buying them all over again. Seen it happen.....
I love to see a properly set up tow vehicles.

Roy,
I put seven 80# bags of quick Crete in back of truck by tailgate and had no issues with snow this past winter, although I must admit in here in Hampton roads VA we only get about 6 inches at a time.

Howdy Sailor........

I spent a few years in Norfolk / Virginia Beach .....CVN-71

My current F-350 does well in the snow/ice and storms that are part of Montana. I always loaded about 500 lbs of bagged sand & gravel in the rear of the bed for winter. Never had a dually before.

How about that !!!
Years ago worked for the largest franchisee of Burger Kings in the nation and wrote their distribution software...

Spent many an End of Month in Norfolk testing new features...

MOST of my predictive delivery logic was because of the Norfolk distribution centers pulses when the fleet was in....

sales went up 30%

And the head of the distribution center was one of the Admirals wives !!!
