Very nice pics guys! Here is my '11 355QBQ Sandpiper. It is 3 feet shorter than the 365 I currently have and my 6.4(pictured) handled it pretty well. But the newer camper is much heavier, thus the 6.7 handles her with ease.
Question. I have the 5th wheel prep. What 5th wheel "head" is everyone using? I hear that the Reese hitch that is made for the Ford prep has too much play.
I know I have a 350 dually, but was totally shocked when I scaled my rig. My dually, with the wife, son, two dogs, tool box and hitch weighs 9800 pounds! Yikes. Combined weight of both is 25, 560!!! No wonder my 6.4 grunted a bit
My DRW, with 2 Goldens, 2 people, 65 gallons of fuel, tool box and rolltop cover, hitch and some firewood was 10,000 even on the last weigh.
The trailer varies and as has been as high as 18+ loaded for 2 weeks of boon docking and an Electra glide - electric golf cart.

I don't have the Ford factory prep, but I use a B&W and I love it. B&W makes a Companion for the factory Ford prep and I'd recommend it to anyone.

The Reese IS the Ford hitch without the Ford sticker or markup. It's the exact same product. The factory prep is made by Reese too. With your factory (Reese) prep pkg, you want either the Reese Elite 18k or 25k based on your trailer's weight. The 18k part number is 30142 and the 25k is 30143. Shop the net and save. I got my 18k for around 850 two years ago. They've gone up since but can still be had for 1100-1200. The best thing I can recommend is to find the best price anywhere on the net then order from etrailer.com. They have a low price guarantee where you order at full price. Then you point out the lower price and they refund 110% of the difference. Done it with them plenty and it works great to get the best deal out there.
So, buy it from etrailer for $1268.39. Invoke the low price guarantee. The 110% difference is $155.03. So, you end up paying $1113.36. There is also a $50 rebate from Reese right now so $1063.36. Not bad. Then sell the wiring as I mention below and $988.36!
PS: When you order the Reese hitch it comes with the in bed wiring kit which you don't need. So, you sell that on eBay for $75 and come out even further ahead. Got my price from $850 down to $775!
Thanks for the responses. When I first got the truck and was thinking of getting a fiver - the Reese/Ford Elite hitch was getting bad reviews... Which was why I was asking. I then ran into some financial issues and never got one.
Now I am considering getting a 5th wheel again, as I need a cargo trailer and thought, gee,why not use the money for a Cargo trailer towards a used Toy Hauler. so thought I would see what people thought about them lately - as I am sure things change over time.
I, too, have always heard good things about B&W - but in 2010 they didn't have a "neat" solution to the factory 5th wheel prep.

no play with the Reese. I got mine thrown in with the truck when purchased. It is just fine.
