For licensing requirements they have reciprocity Randy. Not for trailer laws though. For example, in MA my class D license is only good to 26k but it doesn't apply to RV's so I'm good both in state and the states I travel to. However, if someone who can legally tow doubles in their state comes to MA or any other state that it's not allowed, they are not legal.
YIKES!!!! I guess my understanding was a misunderstanding then!
That would really leave someone who was ignorant of all the laws of any state they tow through in a very vulnerable position....
I had considered buying a small trailer to tow behind the 5er down to AZ, but would be over the AZ Length limit. I would then get a ticket or worse!
I think RV's are a unlikely target Randy. Many CC DRW trucks pulling long haulers like mine are over the 65' limit in many states. I never hear about them getting into trouble. However something like towing doubles is quite a bit more obvious than being a few feet over and is more likely to catch the eye of Johnny Law...
Sorry, after further searching, that appears to be the floorplan for the 2010 and up model. The 2009 model didn't have a kitchen breakfast bar and the bed was flipped into the slide. The correct layout is this one:
Good find. I texted my guy at XLR who said that's the one. It's an older discontinued one that is similar to the current 375 AMP. It was their #1 selling floor plan for years he tells me.
