How to price this truck?
Gonna put my Excursion on the block soon. Not now, but soon.
4x4, 7.3L, DP-Tuner, Hellwig, Bilstein. All the good stuff. 131,000 miles. Truck is in top notch mechanical condition. I'd drive it anywhere and still use it for commuting/towing.
Problem is that I got sideswiped hard a couple of months ago and did a backyard job at the repairs. Everything works, doors seal, etc but it's just not a very good looking truck anymore.
Assuming it's in quite rough cosmetic condition (on one side) and it's an obvious backyard repair job, what should I ask?
Here's a pic before I hammered out the dents:

In my area a rust free truck like yours would bring 8k all day long even with the damage. Rust free trucks are worth a pretty penny in the rust belt! Especially 7.3's and its an Excursion on top of it!
It really depends on the area though. I sold my 2000 Ex 7.3 limited 4x4 with 306,000 miles on it for 8k. It was in need of new rockers and had rust around the window trim starting.

I'm thinking it's worth $9K. For that kind of money if you want a diesel you're looking at way over 200K miles and I know that my truck has been taken care of better than 90% of trucks on the road.
So it would boil down to whether folks want a much higher mileage truck that looks better, or this lower mileage truck that's a little ugly.

Forgot to ask, is the frame bent?
If it is ???
I am seeing prices all over the map. Example: Used 2003 Ford Excursion - in 30062 Area - 4x4/4-wheel drive on Cars.com

Regarding what to do with it - I would pick up an older gasser cab and swap it with yours. It can probably be done in a weekend. The problem is that the market for the older excursions is getting soft the last few years. Around here a clean one will only bring 12-13k with a 7.3 and 4x4.

Like TOm said.. if it was in ILLINOIS.... you would have NO issue getting rid of it. I can't even bring the Excursion to the dealer without them swarming my truck wanting to trade for it. The salesman have lists of people that are looking for Excursions. Heck, it took me 5 years to find mine!!!
I would suggest putting it on Ebay for whatever you want for it, see what it can bring! Wont' hurt anything
