Decided to post up a video of my tired 5.4 towing about 9000lbs. She has 270,000 miles and the last spark plug change was 140,000 ago lol. She has a slight hesitation as you can see in the video. BTW it is a 2v with 260 hp.

We'll be loading up and heading out next week with our 2010 F250 5.4L auto/3.73 towing our 8500~lb 5th wheel. Even after four Cummins Rams and a Hemi powered 2500HD Ram, we're very happy with the performance of our 5.4L around the southeast.

Lol I always tell him to get a real car but his TT is nice and freaking fast as all hell.
The problem is the people who drive euro cars like that. I think I have met 2 euro fans that aren't complete douche bags.

She still seems to move along just fine.

I've come to the conclusion that the people that have no respect for these motors are the ones that never drove one. There will always be exceptions but generally this is true.

It moves along more then enough for me. I have put this truck thru hell towing DOUBLE what it is rated for on several occasions. I tow max limit or more at least 3 days a week since I have owned it and drive with 3/4 throttle most if the time when accelerating. It just keeps starting up every morning and begging for more! I couldn't be happier with the truck.

More like 80% of a V-10.

Aside from towing a trailer though she is a work horse and hauls anything in the bed without issue and makes a great DD.
I just made a trip from Kingsport, TN to Social Circle, GA to pick up the 1979 f150 my son bought. Total trailer weight was 7,000 and 99% of the trip was made at 2,000 rpm or less. I got a few videos for you.

Not getting above 2,000 rpm to get up to speed.

Cruising below 2,000.

Accelerating with more throttle, but not wide open.

Ran it up Sams Gap at 60 mph and 4,500 rpm for 5 minutes(video is last 2.5 minutes) just to show that it wouldn't blow spark plugs through the hood or break down. 6-8% grade for 5 miles.

On the way down I pulled the trailer that weighs 2,500 lbs and got 14.3 mpgs. On the way back with the truck and trailer it got 12 mpgs.

Filled up before we left.

Filled up when we got there. Pulling empty trailer.

Filled up when we got home. Had to drive farther on the way back because I left my trailer lock keys there and had to go back and get them. Loaded trailer entire trip.

You only have 50k on a '00 manual? I'd buy it, 5.4 and all, in a heart beat off you. That's like a white rhino. Or the '79 on the trailer. I'd be equally happy with either.

yea we used to have the same setup at work before we traded it for a 6.7, but i agree, the throttle was almost too touchy. The power in that van, even being loaded down with electrical tools/supplies, surprised me vs. my 5.4 in an empty super cab short bed

I love my 99 5.4 that I use as a weekend beater truck. I dont tow anything crazy but compared to my 01 excursion v10 it seems to drive the same.
