HELP!!! On vacation and clutch pedal went to floor??

Pulled the camper to St. Augustine and suppose to be leaving in the morning. Cruised down the beach then pulled into Fort Mantanzas to let my wife and girls use the restroom. Had the truck in 1st and clutch pedal depressed when the truck started to pull and then went dead. Tried to pull it back into neutral and noticed it was hard to get out of gear. Let off clutch pedal and it stayed on the floor. 2000 7.3 ZF6 4X4 CCLB. Was able to crank in gear and shift without the clutch to get it back to the campground. WIFI stinks here so my searching is limited and slow. If I have to pull the trans I guess I 'm taking it somewhere. I have the basic hand tools with me and I can call a cab to go get parts if I can do this myself. Is replacing the slave cylinder something that can be done at the campground? The rod is still attached to back of clutch pedal and I don't see any fluid leaking and the reservoir is still full.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

ok, so rods' still attached to clutch. Thats good, because sometimes..(happened to me), clutch went to floor and the metal nipple that the rod attaches to had broke off. Yes, you can remove slave from trans. Crawl under and turn 1/4 turn and it'll release from housing. Slowly removeit so the slave rod doesnt fall into housing.

You can remove slave fromhose. Its a "pin lock", you'll see it. Push pin out, and install new slave. BUT, its a bear to bleed. If anything, i'd install a new pre-bled assy...If advanced auto is local, get theres..pf9021. Its all aluminum. Its what i installed yesterday. Or checkANY other auto store for pre-bled unit. Worth the investment...$100-$150.00...And takes about 10-15min to removeold and install new...

With big screwdriver in hand..(all the tools you'll need), pop master rod off clutch pedal, then remove eletctic devise atop therop via white plastic clip, then snorkel devise off rod...(devise = neutral safety switch). Then remove slave, then pop hood open and turn master cyl 1/4 turn upward.....

To install new, DO NOT INSTALL MASTER ROD UNTIL LAST....snorkel new slave and hose down to ground from under the hood. Install master into firewall via 1/4 turn downward. You'll feel it lock in. Then install slave. Then crawl under dash, install rod to master, then snap rod end onto clutch nipple....WHEN REMOVING ROD FROM PEDAL,KEEPFACE AWAY,CUZ IT WILLSWING UP TO DASH). With rodin place, attach NSW onto rod then snap white clip back on....walah

with slave removed from housing, measure fromoutside trans to clutch fork. Should be around 2-1/2in to 2-3/4in gap...anything more then you have clutchfork problem...DO NOT CUT CLIPS HOLDING SLAVE ROD INTO ITS HOUSING. it'llsnapwhen first time clutch is depressed

The master is harder to put in but it is very possible to do in a campground.

Ok got it out and it has some fluid on it. Measured to the fork and it is 2-3/4" to edge of bell housing. Dude, you don't know how much I appreciate this. Going to get the rest apart and find an advance auto. Check back later. I owe you one.

ok got the whole assembly out. Called advance auto they will have the part in about 1 hour. He did not recognize the part #PF9021 as the slave cylinder for the truck but when I told him it was and entire pre-bled assembly he agreed. However, he was unable to cross reference the part # to the truck so I'm going off the # you gave me Timmyboy. I did manage to break the plastic retaining clip that holds the rod to the top of the clutch pedal. I hope it either comes with one or they have one I can buy. Will I need any fluid to add and what type?

no fluids' needed. Entire assy will come with fluid already installed and the birdcage installed into the rod end, with rod itself floating in the box....
