56 COE with glass side trailer hauling Mercury

We've all seen the photos of the 56 COE with the really cool glass sided trailer hauling the Mercury Turnpike Cruiser show car, but this is something very special to go with it. An original factory press release and photo from someone's archives. Too cool. It's listed on ebay now.

I'd sure like to see this fantastic COE rig be recreated. With all the COE customs being done these days, wouldn't recreating this Merc hauler be unique? I love the whitewall 20s. Stu

Since you mentioned recreating the rig, you might be interested in this semi-related thread. Some serious talent out there. I bumped into this while researching the other pics.

I didn't realize when I saw this COE before that the truck was color coordinated to the car inside it.

I wonder his many trucks there were and what happened to them?

That's very interesting. I love that truck (and the wide whites).

I never knew that the sides folded down and the trailer had a turntable inside it to rotate the car. Very cool!
