Holmsey, I can't answer your question right now but am wondering if you are going to document this install ON THIS FORUM similar to your excellent thread on your other F-100 on your British forum? I, for one, would really appreciate it if you did.
My '57 currently has no engine or trans so measuring the axles location might not be a good source. I have a Jag IFS for it (and an IRS) but not quite able to tackle it yet.

Hi Steve, I have started taking photos and will put the link to the build when I get it started or I may put direct on here.
I have learned a bit more since the first one I did. I made hard work of that one. Though only did as I was told, from someone I respected.
I have since found out there is a far simpler way to fit the Jag IFS no need for any of the chassis work I did.
I am going to put axle center same as the original 1960 F100 I have now as it looked pretty central. If anyone knows different... it will probably be to late as I hope to start the welding tomorrow ;o).... Thanks for the kind words Steve.

I have seen several comments from those lowering their trucks that moving the axel position forward looks better. As you lower the truck the front wheel opening appears as if it is forward of the stock location. If you look at a lot of lowered fridges you will see what they are saying. From what I have read 1 to 1 1/2 inches forward is about right.

I moved my center line ahead by 1".
I had mocked everything up with suspension, wheels, tires, etc..
1" ahead is where it looked right.
With the '57-60 fender openings, imagine a centerline between the two upper wheel opening "corners".
1.25" would be fine, there is a little more leeway visually on these trucks compared to '53-56's.
