96/351 Bassani Y-pipe
It fit just like the OEM pipe, so all sensor bungs matched perfectly. As for the skid plate.... I dont know. My baby is currently at the auto detailers (birthday present). It will fit exactly how the stock one does. Yes, it was a good investment. I cannot tell you how much 'seat of the pants' feel you will get with just that add on. I bolted it on when I got the rest of the Bassani system. I know it will flow a hell of a lot better than that crinkles stock pipe you have now. So.... my vote is .

If youre going to go the length to put a shiny new performace exhaust system on, why not treat it to a new sensor? If it has all sorts of carbon build up and what not on it, you should notice a smoother running, better performing engine.
Hey Joe, youre a posting guru now. Congrats, have any life fulfilling guru-esque advice for me ?

Dutch,
The "donut" is a gasket and its a stock component. Use whoever manufacturer-wise that you want. Ask for the stock replacement for your truck. They do NOT come with the Y-pipe. You will need two, obviously, one for each manifold. (When you break down and by the Bassni headers you can discard them completely).
kuduhunter,
I went with the Bassani system because I personally think Flowmaster is crap! Exhaust that pops and sputters everytime you come down out of the pedal just sounds like some "hoosier hot rod" (No offense intended to the proud Indianans "hoosier" means something completely different here in St. Louis). Not to mention the fact that replacing them every few years was something I DIDN'T want to do. The Bassni system is low, and menacing in its tone...and never rises above and strong growl even on freeway entrance ramps. Not whimpy, like stock but nothing as hideous as those that sound like they have a cold and are trying to hack up a lung. And its all STAINLESS! Two years of St. Louis salt-brine winter roadways and the worst problem is that I have to clean the rust color off the exhaust from the other parts of the truck that still do. Check the few pics in my gallery if you want a visual. Alas, they are primarily of the Y-pipe.
