No I haven't. Right now it has to wait. Only have funding for top priority issues

Alright. I go the motor out. That's a tight fit. Not looking forward to putting it back in but I don't think my kids are gonna like me putting them under the hood and making engine sounds so I can feel like I still got my truck. Plus the scenery would get boring lol. I am glad I pulled it though because there is a heck of a lot of crud all over the place on this thing. Plus I can see my pan is leaking a bit and the dip stick tube was loose. I'm gonna hold off on tearing into it until I finally remember to call riffraff while there open. I have made 2 calls after hours so far( I never said I was
Smart). At any rate it's definatly gonna be nice to get it all sorted in one shot.

Good deal! It's definitely a good time to address all the issues you can, and when it's back in I don't think you'll regret your decision to pull the engine.

Neither do I. The more I think about it the more it seems like the right choice

Keep up the good work Nick, you're doing the right thing. I don't think you'll regret the decision to do it all while you have it out. If nothing else you'll know a lot more about the truck!

Thanks. I know it's the right choice. I love the truck and always liked this body style. May as well make it last. It's not exactly the best timing for me cause I am also getting geared up to start plowing and seeding grass as soon as the weather turns. Shortly after it will be cutting and planting corn. Oh well. I took a lot of pics and with guidance on here we'll get it back together.

I talked to clay today and he brought a few things to my attention. By the time I get all the oem gaskets to address the leaks I won't be all that far from the cost of a full rebuild kit. The only difference will be the machining really which I just got a price for. At this point I'm gonna take the head off and look inside. That will be the determining factor on the decision. My neighbour has a core motor in his collection that I can get for nothing so worst case scenario I will slap this motor back together and do a build on the other. My simple little scratch is ending up as full blown surgery lol.

I love it!

These projects always seem to suffer that kind of "scope creep" don't they?
