I don't have any interest in owning an Expedition anytime soon...But I do find it odd that Ford isn't offering (at the very least) the Coyote 5.0L V8 to the Expedition lineup. I know Fords pushing the Ecoboost hard in pretty much all models now.

But...

It doesn't seem right to take choice's away from the consumer. And I don't feel that MPG is a legitimate argument, considering that the 5.0L and Ecoboost as generally neck and neck in the MPG race.

It also doesn't seem cost effective to spend hundreds of millions of dollars developing a new engine and limiting its model usage to only two vehicles in the entire lineup. For that matter this argument applies to the slue or capable other engines Ford isn't going to offer (So far). Like the 3.5L N/A V6 that will be in the 2015 F-150's.

What is the general consensus on the lack of verity in the 2015+ Expy's powertrain department?
