OK, WHAT TRUCK TO BUY

My trucks totaled, so what do I buy for a replacement. So far I'm seeing a 450 (with pick up bed) 7.3L with 60K miles, a couple 2008s with around 100K miles, a 2007 with around 80K miles or of course a new 6.7L. So what do y'all think? 7.3L 6.0L 6.4L or 6.7L ? Or how about a GM or Dodge? Hurry up I only have a couple weeks to get it done.

I see know, well I guess I would have to take the 6.7 for a ride, but to outfit one like your old white ghost wont feel particularly nice to the pocket book.
Personally excluding the motor I don't care for the looks of the new trucks, I'd have to look for a another 6.4. Although you have some history with the 7.3, but I think you might miss the pull the 6.4 has.
This place in Texas has a bunch of new boys, more than what I paid for my house 25 years ago.

Stanley I have the same version in 6.7 flavor. I'd get that. I have not taken mine in for a thing since I bought it.

I am never a fan of used trucks myself.

After driving/owning a 6.7, that would be my choice again if anything happened to mine. I still own a 7.3(Excursion) and have had driven all of the others extensively. The 6.7 is in a class by itself.

I would go with the 6.7. That is a nice driving truck, and the stock motor has some *****. With the newer motor coming out in a few months, you can get them around 8000 below sticker price, and I imagine that discount will only get wider the closer you get to the launch of the new motor.

I guess I missed a signal. What new motor? I knew the weight had to start coming off but I haven't heard about a new motor.

I don't mind used if I can get the history and verify it's been maintained. Even with 8000 bucks off the new trucks are in the mid to high 50s. You do know I'm on a pension. There was a new 13 on ebay out in Indiana I think. But it ended today. Even so it was right at 50 before tax and whatever the heck else the dealers can figure out to add on. Tomorrow I arrange a little more time for myself by extending our stay here. That will help some.

6.7. There has been virtually NO problems that are serious, most of them being radiators that are being replaced under warranty. Something to do with casting sand being found in them. Let us know how you end up, once you test drive the 6.7 you will be amazed. It sounds and runs even better deleted

Sorry to hear that about your truck. What was the deal breaker for them to total it? That's a first I've EVER heard of in a truck, getting rear ended and totaling it out. Especially by a Sedan.

You could buy another 6.4 or 7.3 cash... But I'd get a 6.7. Platinum edition.

Are they being generous with their compensation?

The big story is that they are replacing the turbo with a single wheel version to help with spooling and engine braking. Also doing some upgrades to the internals. Same engine..just updates from what I've read.

ON EDIT: Found this

Something to do with the turbo and fuel system, then with all the power upgrades they are updating some internal stuff to handle the extra power.

Don't have a dollar figure yet. Only thing I can figure in totaling it is fear of the unknown, how much other stuff they would find. But, who knows.

I got the impression from that video, that the changes may be exclusive to the 450. No real discussion about 3/4 and 1 ton's.
