new guy on the diesel block

I'm new to this. So I guess I'll tell y'all why I'm on here. I'm buying a 1994 f250 4x4 that has a 6.9 non turbo with a E4OD tranny and was looking to get a lil help learning about these engines I'm not familiar with diesels but I know a bit about gassers. So if anybody has any info they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated.

Those are kind of doggy in performance (you can modify them to extract some more power anyway), but they will last forever, you might want to check these links for both the truck and the engine:
