Ok well im at a loss.
First off my truck does not have the same colored wires (I dont have a blue wire) I have a green with red strip - A LOOKS LIKE purple with a white strip - and a off greenish wire that a purple strip....
I tried wiring in on all three wires- Purple wire cause the truck to lobe for a min (reves great) Then after about a min throws a check engine light and has half its power-

The greenish wire just cause the truck to lobe with no power

The green wire with a red strip - does not seem to have any effect. If it does it is very little.

Ok - Iv been using the green wire (The one by itself) and Im noticing some differences now. More pep on take off and it seems to have almost the same amount of power as before... Im gonna just play with it now that Iv figured out wats wat... Im using a 27k resistor now and am having little issues... Altho I will say I have not noticed the truck blowing anymore black smoke then before.

Thanks guys - anymore advice?

Yea there is something wrong but gotta figure out what....
With the mod - in town awsome power until 45ish Higher Rpms are dogish... On the highway I can hold it down on the floor and the truck 100% refuses to go past 70.

Take the mod out and the loses it take off a bit but once up to 20ish it rockets and continues to keep going. It rockets right past 70 np.

Any Ideas??? Until I find the problem I leaving the mod out.

In the PCM

If you pull the e brake pedal assembly you'll be able to see the back of the PCM
If it has a chip you'll see it

A chip piggybacks the stock tuning(overwrite it)
A programmer removes the stock tune and loads a new one

Edit:
f350hammer, take a read through my ICP Mod thread from several years ago. You can see the results from the different resistor combinations I made and the effect they had on MPG, too. Here's the link: IDMooseMan's ICP Mod Thread
Moose Iv Been rereading your thread - Gotta say your the man when it comes to this mod. I know its a lil late but thank for all the posting you did... I dont know anyone with a dyno - So I got to go by what I can feel.

I will say this - Take off are a freaking dream....I used different Resistors and they all felt the same for the most part (I feel the 22.k resistor did the best for me) However the all had the same effect on the top end. With the mod in place this beast would spin the tires all day long and from a dead stop to WOT she would twitch the tires pretty good. Wife doesnt know a thing about trucks and doesnt care to ------ When i took her to the store with the mod in place (She was like wtf did you do to this thing) She noticed it right away and I did not even tell her I had been messing with it...
Pride Ill check tomorrow for that chip.

If there is no chip - wat else could be causing me problems???
