I have seen that a few times. I figure it doesn't hurt to make sure. For me while I might have others help me I prefer to secure the load in my truck myself so I know it is done to my standards.
A guy who no longer works for my dad only wanted to tie a car done to the trailer with two straps. My dad was going to be towing it and since he would be responsible if it came off added two more. It is not that much extra work for the added safety.
That is very true. I would rather spend a few extra minutes adding a few more tie downs then incur an accident that is my fault because the load came loose.
