Unhappy 1992 7.5L Stalls/starts after cool down.

Hey folks. I have a problem. I have a 1992 E-350 RV conversion van with a 7.5L V8. You can drive her for a good 4 plus hours without any problems. Suddenly she'll stall and just die. You can crank it back up but it will again simply die. Let it sit for a couple of hours to cool down and it will crank right up and you can go run a hole in the wind for a few more hours until it dies again. I've changed the classic ford ignition module but it didn't do any good. I've heard tales involving PIP's and Temperature sensors. Any crackin' ideas out there?
Thanks,
Travis

Not a fuel problem.

Last season we replaced the feul filter and had the pump pressure checked out. When we replaced the fuel filter, the engine had just quit running and we got drowned like rats by the fuel and when we returned home, the Ford dealer checked the fuel pump to be sure and it is good.

fuel pump could of had normal pressure when checked, when they get warm after extended use they get slow binding up insidelet them cool down they get normal pressure up again, its either that a a bad ign module but id bet its the pump, the part# on the pump shoul start with F7 not sure if you have the two pump set up with one pump on the frame and the low pressure pump in the tank or only the one pump setup in the tank,,the guys at the dealers didn't test the pump after driving a few hours?

Something as simple as a missing heat shield in the right (wrong) spot could lead to vapor lock even in a efi motor. (especially with a pump that is less than 100%) The fuel pressure would be my first guess. Then i would look for areas of the fuel line that are routed too close to the exhaust, laying on the head, etc...

Years ago I worked for a guy and we rode around the country in an ol' dodge. It had crispy-fried the rubber flaps that protected the front coil springs from the exhaust header heat and the headers from mud I 'spose. The heat from driving for hours in the mountains took the temper out of those springs (it sat nose down like a drag car) and caused us vapor locking problems constantly. Carb not FI.
