Well I did it, bought another obs 7.3!!!

Hello Family,

The other night I came a this truck on another forum and it was local to me. I when and looked at it this morning before the snow hit. I couldn't pick it apart but felt good from what I have seen. I was rushed on it because I had to go plow and salt. I wanted to inspect better but just couldn't. I left a down payment on it and planed to pick it up Sunday.

She is a 94.5 F250XLT 7.3 RCLB 4x4 Zf5 164xxx. It was the boss truck of a landscape company that the people I knew I was told. You can tell it was a work truck. I was not looking for a show truck. I was looking for a truck I could use for my landscape company and for my dad to use in the winter for a 4x4 truck.

I paid $3,500 for it. I think it a good deal, not a steal.

Bad:
needs glow plugs ( they give it a little shot of starting fluid to start it. I know it bad, he assured me it only been a few time. Time will tell)
need rear brake work or adjusting
typical fender rot on all 4.
cab has some rust
plow truck
needs tumbler
passenger side broken dash

Good
7.3
zf5
4.10
all power stuff works
steering column is tight
bench seat good
runs good and drive great

The guy had bought it to do a zf5 swap on his 95. Then figured he stick with a built auto trans.

I'm not sure what the plan is for it yet. I'm going to put a set of glow plugs and relay in it. Brake job and a set of 235,85,16 back on it. Sell off the 16.5 that are on it. My plan is not to put more then 500 into it. I may sell it off in spring to free up money for the dump truck project. Figured id just share for u guys.

Glow plugs and relay I'm going to use:94-03 Ford Powerstroke 7.3 Diesel Glow Plug Super Kit - Little Power Shop

I've never seen a 94.5 with the Powerstroke stickers under the fender badges. Usually they just have a badge that says "Turbo Diesel".

Thanks guys. I hope it doesn't have any major problem. I really don't plan on fixing the body up to much. If things go right, It maybe become my plow/ salt truck.

Yeah, the power stroke badges were either added or it is a 95+ truck
Easy enough to tell by the Vin what year it is.

What size Uni-mount did it come with?

Yes it is but I'm old school with just XL. No need for that power problems down the road. We always have problems with water in the doors of our new trucks at work with things not working.

Man talk about some ugly looking wheels. Great looking truck though otherwise, I am hoping to eventually settle into one of the older F350 7.3 CCSBs some day....

I think you did real well Doug. That's not a bad price for what you're getting. That is a great work truck!

Not bad at all. I paid a lot more for a lot more miles and quite a few repairs. Nice work
