I'm considering pouring some stop leak in the cooling system since I hope to wait a few months to actually fix it.

Anybody have any opinions or experiences one way or the other on that idea?

I decided to do the same. I used barrs concentrate. Just 1 of them. Maybe should have used 2 with the size of the system. I hated doing it but like u I'm looking to hold of until spring for the repair. To he honest it didnt help much. If u notice all the products are radiator stop leak product. I feel like if the leak is in tge radiator itself or the reservoir itself they work a little better. If its a hose or leak down the system they are almost a waste of time. It didnt hurt but I really felt like a donkey pouring that sludge in my reservoir.

That's the brand I bought as well. Haven't put it in yet but I probably will next time I'm going to be running it for 30min or longer.

I suppose I should've tried that two years ago

I hope you poured it in the radiator and not the overflow reservoir

Alright folks, I'm looking into buying a new OEM intake. I found a few places online with a decent price $260ish vs $180 for the dorman. But, shipping is a killer at $20-$35.

Is there a preferred ford parts guy on FTE these days? A few years back it was partsguyed and he was great, but I think he's since retired..?

Thanks in advance!

There is a thread on here about how to receive 9.99 overnight shipping from white bear lake.

Here is the link. It may be worth it.

Wow, they have a good price on it at $242 and if they're reasonable on shipping I'm in.

Thanks! Reps to you and the OP in the other thread!

Edit... I can't rep 99ExpyProblems for some reason..? No rep icon, only the "report post" icon. oh well.

Thanks again for the link to that other thread. I ended up ordering the intake from AutoNation Ford and their shipping was $7.95, compared to $20 and up from the other dealers.

Parts are starting to roll in for this project. I have the intake gaskets, spark plugs, and eight new OEM coils.

Haven't ordered them yet but I also plan to replace the idler pulley and tensioner pulley as they're a little bit loud on cold mornings :-)

Oh, and I might as well replace the fuel filter while the fuel pressure is let off.

Looking forward to being finished with this project.

Well, I did the intake job this past weekend. It went pretty smooth, working on the write up now.

Fantastic write up as always Jason. When it was all said and done, how long did it take and what was a ball park on total cost if you don't mind me asking?
