Yeah that looks awesome. I am definitely going to go with that one. Ive got all of the grade 8 bolts. And I am going to prime it and maybe maybe herculine it. Just because if I paint it, it may be a gloss black and I think it will look a little weird since the trucks paint job is not a pristine(Spelling?) as it was.

Psssst hey! Anyone happen to have a 78-9 with that thar pre-runner bumper? I hate these lame chrome bumpers that flex all the time. I need to be able to step on something to work on the motor once in a while

I've been... Preached at? about these steps that hang off your tire but in my case, I can just turn my wheels and stand on the tire itself. It's my hood that gets in my way. Anyways, I really like that pre-runner style and I'm wonder how it looks on a 78. Maybe I should fire up photoshop

Hey 88LX5.0H did you get yours right from Bronco Graveyard? And how long did it take for you to get it?

I ordered mine last week. I've been in contact with one of the guys that work there. Hes trying to get into contact with his supplier in Arizona, I am guessing for the metal since they are built per order? I am expecting 5-7 weeks.

Oh also! What do you guys think about for paint? I was thinking about staying away from high gloss. I was thinking rattle canning primer on it (a few coats), then herculine it with the good stuff.

Primer and bedliner is a good idea, it gives you rust protection. If it has any kind of place to step on you might get wet paint on it the sprinkle sand on it and let it dry, then spray over it. That way you have some grip when working on the motor.

Or buy grip tape

I know by Silverlake Sand dunes in Northern Michigan there is 2 pre runner shops that specialize in all kinds of custom work. You could check around you and see if there is any pre runner shops that could maybe fabricate you some kind of bolt on or weld on tube bumper, then you could get some nice customization and even some nice approach angle for off-roading.

You might also inquire the price for getting the bumper Rhino-Lined; I did that on my F-250 bumper after the powder coating went to crap. No more worries about bugs or rust.

@Fordman96 I had Googled a few things, I found one place in the boondocks of New Hampshire (But I also searched after I already ordered it). Supposed to be shipping week.

@pappy19 I'm definitely going to Rhino-Line (Going to use Herculiner). I have a sprayer I might spray it or roll it on.

So now my next concern. I know this bumper is going to be fairly heavy compared to the stock 40-50lb?? bumper. When I add a winch that's going to add additional weight. I emailed Rough Country Suspension since that's my lift on suggestions about the weight and the front end sagging. I mentioned coil spring spacers (I actually have a set of 2" spacers) but he said to go up to the 4" coils. I wanted to get everyone's opinions. I can weigh the bumper when I get it.

You're truck's only lifted 2.5" right? I read that the F250 or 350 springs are ~2" taller that the bronco's stock ones so people use them to level out the sagging from suspension. Maybe you could look into those or some 3"-4" of that style since that truck style is naturally heavier than ours I would assume it's a stronger.

Yes sir! I am thinking of going to 4" lift coils from Rough Country.

It's actually felt like spring out up here in the North East!!! So, with that being said my bumper is scheduled to arrive FRIDAY!!! I feel like a little kid on Christmas!! So I plan on sanding down any surface rust (if any, from the travel) priming it with rattle cans then herculining it. It is supposed to rain Friday so I will probably make a tarp fort to do this. I am also going to measure top of fender well to the ground with stock bumper on then measure with new bumper and do the same thing for the next week or more to see how much it sags then figure out a plan from there. The weight of it is 160lb on a pallet. So the pallet weight what 30-40lbs? So I am looking at a 120-130lb bumper?
