Hey, anyone ever put wood bed rails on their truck like they have on a flat bed truck? I was thinking I would like it better than putting on a shell, and will make it easy to go to the dump, or pack for trips etc. Any one have any idea where to get these or have they made them themselves? or plans or something?

You said that you had the flat bed on the back..does it have the stake pockets? If it does then side gates are really easy to make. In fact you can make some really cool side gates. your imagination is the only limit, well and budget. I have made several side gates for some of the people in this area. and each has thier own way of wanting somthing done..
Play around with some diffent ideas and see what you like the best..Practice on paper is a lot cheaper that with the real material.. believe me I have learned the hard way....
