I'm thinking of sticking with a carb on my current project, I have a 1983 351 W 2brl carb.

I've worked on everything John, but I will prefer carbs always. Give me a carb and I can make it sing. With FI your stuck with somebody else's tune...

We BSed about this before, toss those 2bbl heads, cam, 2bbl intake and build yourself one of those 84-86 HO 351 4Vs Ford had......(or equiv. out of aftermarket parts)

Are you saying just change the heads,intake and carb, will the bottom end be good as is.

If the bottom end is sound to begin with, you could start adding parts at your leisure.

I built a great 302 in 75 Mustang II by doing nothing more than the equivalent.

I'll have to start researching parts I guess, this motor should be good, it only has about 50K on it. I knew the guy who owned it.

I wouldn't mind a big block just don't know if I'd like to feed one. The price of gas has been coming down though.

What type of HP is obtainable from the engine I have now that is only around 170ish if I'm not mistaken.

250-300hp without breaking too much of a sweat, with off the shelf stuff and average know-how.
