I don't mind friendly laid back individuals, but the snarky hoity toity elitist attitude can stay where it came from. There's a huge influx of that which in turn brings crimes like deadly hit and run accidents where the killers still haven't been found.
Cameras are now common downtown due to the constant barrage of bar fights and assaults. The homeless situation is out of control due to enabling caused by the good-hearted organizations that provide free meals, showers and laundry facilities, but no actual course of action for betterment. Why better yourself if others will take care of you and you can still get drunk or high all day and sit at the library in the A/C using the WiFi for your IPad?

Didn't I hear on the news yesterday about a huge drug bust in TC?

I agree with the hoity toity crowd. For the most part, they stay away in the winter so snowmobiling up here is rather nice, same with hunting we just need more deer around here. I think with the lack of the law around here, many deer are harvested illegally.

Summer is almost unbearable at times if we go to 4 corners. The 4th is getting downright ridiculous. We typically stay at the cabin and only go in when absolutely necessary. The wife loves the people and I'd rather hoard myself at the cabin.

I think what you read about happened last weekend. Several Heroin busts and three different overdoses including at least one death. Meth labs are in the rural areas like the UP, but the Heroin is dirt cheap nowadays. It's a true epidemic right now.
