Aside from the idiots that panic because of a flake or two they can still run stuff. But several school districts are closing for tomorrow. The university hasnt closed yet.
I know I like having mine Tim. I haven't even put any weight in my truck yet. Havent had the need to. Anything less then 6 inches or so doesnt warrant any weight.
The Les Scwabs out here sell sand bags for trucks pretty cheap. Like $2 for 50lb. The wife's van has studded snow tires and does incredibly well. Not quite 4 wheel drive but confidence inspiring for sure.
Helps to keep some traction on the rear wheels Tim. Also good in case I were to get stuck because I can open a bag of sand up and spread it in front of the tires to help get traction. And it does hurt the fuel economy. Having an extra 600 lbs of weight in the truck hurts. I have seen my fuel economy drop by 1-2 mpg easy.
Works great if you need to spread it. And if you dont then that is a plus as well. Guess I will have to put my yaktraks on before I leave work tonight. The sand also doesnt tear up the paiont as bad as the road salt.
I hate it as well Tim. I was hoping to have had the truck detailed last month but wasnt able to because of all the body work that had to be done to it so the spring is when it will be detailed.
