If you're just sittin around tonight like me, you might like to stop by the '47 and earlier site and see what I painted on my door last night. " sheet metal ****" is the post. I was looking for a manure spreader f4 or f5, but settled on this. I'll get my manure speader some day. This was just a concept job.....

Are you saying you painted that "Mt. Pickett Salvage" on your truck doors and made it look like it's 65 years old?

How did you do that?

Ok, but it was a rather random act. Here's what I did. I shook up a can of rustoleum rusty metal primer, stood back about 18" and sprayed a light fog on the door. No pre-cleaning, no sanding, no masking. I wanted yellow paint and I found a rattle can of caterpillar equipment yellow. It was hopelessly clogged, but there was a road flare on the bench and I stabbed the spike into the top edge of the can and unloaded the contents in about one second into a coffee cup. I couldn't find a small brush so I cut the last 1/2" off a 3" paint brush and dipped it into my coffee cup of rattle yellow and painted on the letters freehand. It's something I've done for many years, like when most of these new rat rod guys and gas monkey guys were wearing knee pants.......(you HAD to ask)

A bit late, but Happy New Year to all FTErs. Making progress on my girls is one of my resolutions, so I'll be seeing you around.
