Sure thing, I'm good at telling "stories". You heading over to the swap meet as well? If so PM me and we'll have to link up. Sounds like Tinman will be in the are as well.

Drat , I have to leave GF shortly after noon on the 29th to get back to Ennis for our annual Fire Academy. I'm a volunteer firefighter and this is our biggest training event of the year.

On another note, the last couple days have been good here. Installed my new distributor and FINALLY managed to bolt on my water pump and not have a leak (long, sad story.) Coil arrives tomorrow!

Question for you. I picked up 1950 F1 that had been taken apart for painting. The owner lost interest and it changed hands a few times before I acquired it. Among the many missing parts was the throttle arm that bolts to the firewall. I picked one up off of Epay bu the bolts on the are are too short to reach through the hole in the firewall. Is there some sort of threaded extension that lets this part mount to the firewall?

Got it figured out ! Thanks, Kurt

Doug does the stock kickdown cable work with the shifter

Roy, not that I can tell. I went ahead and got the Lokar kick down ($$), but haven't figured out how to hook it up for sure yet.

Steve, thanks for the note! This summer is sucking up all my time, so no progress on the truck. I leave for Alaska for 22 days next week. Today I made an appointment to get the exhaust system done the first week of August! woohoo

I know how that works Doug. Summers are busy and winters are too cold. Not so bad here in Billings though, winters that is.

Fortunately, I have a nice big heated shop (radiant floors) so winter is when I get most of my work done on the truck

Today the truck saw the light of day for the first time in a year. Next Monday he goes in for installation of the exhaust. The guys doing it wanted the box on, to check any clearance issues, so I tossed it on today. Also bolted on my new running boards (found a deal I COULD NOT pass up) as well.
