Cool, if you ever think of it, you should pop back in sometime and post what your 5.0 is getting for an average.

I realize its a bit like comparing apples and oranges, a half ton gas to a one ton diesel, but Id be curious to know how much better it actually is. See if the new truck was justified in that sense, so to speak!

I know for myself i have an old gas half ton for doing light work, and i dont need my diesel for about 75 percent of the time i use it, but for the 25 percent I do need it, I couldnt get away with a new half ton, so im always stuck with a diesel!

The other thing for me was cost. Im a cheap *** haha. i bought my truck for 21 grand. I dont even want to know what a new half ton is up here of the same lariat caliber?? Over 50 grand I would guess?

For 25-30 grand I can put a lot of fuel, and do a lot of repairs and maintenance on my current diesel before it comes close to the 50 grand mark.

If he sits in the back seat a lot he might like it! I like the width of the superduty cab more myself, but rear seat leg room and also the flat load floors are sweet!
