This happened to me a few weeks ago and I finally had time to load the video, excuse the loud music but sorta fitting. It has happened to me 6 times now and I have less them 40,000 miles on my 2012 F250 6.7 SC SRW LB 6.7, yea I had enough time to pull my phone out and start recording. I have the original Continental tires 18" but am upgrading to the platinum 20" wheels with new tires soon.
I have had the problem 4 times now twice in one day . I literally had to slow down to 15 miles per hour to get it to calm down enough to continue on . I checked air pressure and all tires had 65 psi ( recommended for my stock 20" tires) .

What's your truck's model year and mileage, camper415? Did you bring this to the attention of your dealership?
My truck is a 2011 F250 cc lariet 6.7l I have 38907 miles. I have not been to the dealer as I bought it used thru CarMax and was unsure how to proceed.

Thanks for following up, camper415! Your local Ford Dealership will be in the best position to get this documented and diagnosed. If you'd like, I can provide you with a list of dealerships close to you. Just send me a PM with your ZIP code and I'll do the rest.
Got it last couple of times at higher speed driving. I've noticed its happened more now on my 2011 that I've changed the ss from factory to a rancho. While I was at the dealership I happened to mention it to them. (The trucks in now, cause I'm getting major lash on acceleration, they figure the slip shaft needs to be lubricated) and so I mentioned it to them and they said they would take care of it immediately at no charge. Starting with the bushings in the pan rod bar and going from there.
I just dropped my truck off at one of the local Ford dealers to have them diagnose my dw problem . I'll post up what they say is causing the problem when I get it back .
The ford dealer said all front end components were tight but they wanted to do alignment and rotation and check camber. Could not do it that say, going back on Tuesday.

Thanks for the update, camper415. I'll keep checking in to see how things go tomorrow.
Can someone (hopefully Crystal) explain how it is that after countless owner reports, video's, etc. that Ford has not figured out what the cause is and addressed it? It is obviously some type of design flaw, yet Ford just keeps acting like there is nothing wrong.
My wife and I took a day trip up to Richmond yesterday in my truck and it happened three times ,once on the way up with me behind the wheel and twice on the way home with my wife driving. I took it to the ford dealer again on my way home and they want me to bring it in Tuesday late and leave it overnight . which leaves me without a ride to work .

Hi jh225,
Since I'm not a technician, I don't have access to engineering information or repair procedures. I'd recommend reaching out to your dealership's service manager; they'll be in the best position to address your concerns.

You do realize that it's not just ford, right? The first time I experienced it was in a Jeep. I've had Dodges do it as well. Anything with coil springs and a live front axle has the capability. It can be tires, bushings, alignment, steering stabilizer, and yes, worn parts. There is no "one" cause.
The thing is, DW's haven't really been all that reported with the new chassis on the RAMs. RAM's new front end greatly resembles Ford's current front steering setup (2 radius arms and a panhard bar). When looking at the old NHTSA videos in regards to the DW, it looks like the frame starts flexing from just behind the cabin along with the oscillation with the front axle. So it looks like the DW is caused by a sum of all its parts (not enough dampening in steering, along with the flex the frame allows). I just wonder if a stiffened frame would help cure the wobble, or minimize the oscillation?
I will be taking my truck and leaving it overnight this afternoon ,will have to rent a car for a day to get to work . they are going to rotate and balance my tires and do an alignment , to try to get rid of the death wobble.
