intake manifold

I have an Edlebrock 390 Streetmaster intake manifold. I am rebuilding a 390 and am considering using it. I have never used this intake manifold before because my truck is very heavy, I like offroading, run large tires, and have always felt that my low end torque would suffer considerably with the manifold. The only other intake manifold I have is a two barrel. Would I be better off with the single plane Edlebrock four barrel over the stock two barrel ? If I do go with the Streetmaster I should be thinking Comp Cams 268H right ? Should I spend the big bucks and buy a new intake manifold? Any imput at all would be appreciated.

The streetmaster is a very small port, small plenum volume single plane manifold. Low speed air velocity is much better than the victor. Most people that have used it say that low end torque doesn't really suffer. I can't speak from personal experience on this matter. If you have a four barrel I would say go for it. Otherwise use the two barrel and save up for a performer RPM and good 650cfm carb.

USE IT!!! My dad had one on his 400 it had all kinds of power throughout the whole power range then he tried a performer to gain some lower end what a mistake that was! Good luck

The 400 is a completely different engine than the 390. It belongs with the 351M and clevelands.

Is this manifold going to kill my low end torque? Down the road I am thinking it would be a great manifold in my 69 mustang, but right now I am wanting to put it in a 67 f-250 4x4 daily driver.
