My new hobby 1956 F100
Well I am starting a new project for me. I recently bought a 1956 F100 to go through.
The gentleman I bought it from had started to restore, but decided to reduce his cars he had.
Here is a picture of it in my garage.

Hey Wade,
Welcome Aboard! Looks like a great start. What are your plans for
your truck? I love that year.

My plans are to keep it mostly stock with some safety upgrades. It has a 272 with a ford-o-matic in it. I was thinking of doing power breaks with disc breaks up front.
Planning to paint it back to the factory colors.

Well I was lucky on the truck. It sat in a garage since 1980 so it has been pretty well protected.
I have found a few spots on the lower door area, but that seems to be a common area that needs work on the F100's.

Frequent rust catchers are inner fenders near the cab, all four cab corners, and doors (bottom inner and outer and sometimes even up top). Here in the Midwest, fenders where the running boards meet them, inner corners of the cab to included front and rear cab mounts, around the headlights and frequently the floors rust probably due to salt being used on our roads for many years.
Expect a little rust our trucks are 60 years old! Good luck on your build.
