I don't believe the fronts are. You were on snow the entire time, right?
Don't run it on partial snow or dry roads. You will have axle wrap up and break something.

nope.. only time i was in the snow and ice was my grandfathers driveway and parking lots that werent clearned... had asked before in the drivetrain sections back when i first got the truck and they said it was ok to leave locked.. when i had it in 4x2.. most said they did it often to keep the front lubed.. just felt weird to me doing it.. since its all manual as far as that stuff went didnt want to have to keep getting out to lock it...

You have manual hubs and manual transfer?
Leave the hubs locked in all winter. Shift in and out of 4X4 with the transfer.
Don't drive on dry roads with all locked in.
That's what I was always told.

4x2H was what i had it in for the dry roads.. when the truck started slipping itd quickly go to 4H or 4L depending which i could find and where i was.. 4L was easier to find than 4H was...
depending on how the fronts setup you could run it FT4wd.. but has to be setup to do it.. dodge makes a few like that as does GM but i dunno if Ford does.. 4H is meant to be run just like 2H.. but if the fronts not setup right you can very easily burn it up on dry roads... but i just dunno if they are on the SD to run ft like that....
