Fuel Filler Neck

Does anyone know where I could buy a fuel filler neck for cheap? Ford wants over $300.00 for this part. I have a 2000 Excursion, 4X4, Limited with a 6.8 liter gas engine. I believe it is ford part number 1C7Z9034BA but I am not positive. Can this filler neck be changed without dropping the gas tank?

Thanks in advance,
Robert

I understand why a 2000 diesel Ex owner would want to change that part, but curious the reasons why a gasser would? Or maybe I'm just thinking of the wrong part.

I live in New Hampshire and there is a lot of salt on the roads during winter. This neck is rusted out and leaks gas every time if fill it.

Gotcha, I lived free and died for quit awhile in S. NH. Ok, so its not a size issue (01-05s can use the larger truck stop pumps). Thanks.

Could check the salvage yards for a cheap one. How badly is it rusted? Maybe it could be patched/fixed?

I have fixed a number of our filler necks on our trucks by cutting out the bad section and welding in a new section and then coating the entire thing.

I would say the same as Snowseeker. Cut the rusty part out and fit a new one in.
BUT: If I were you I would dump the whole OEM stuff and goes the Aeroway.

We get them here in a ultimate high quality for a reasonable price and in different diameters. They look awesome. IMO, of course.
If you need further details, let me know
