Tough Country Bumpers - My Experience

Hey everyone, I thought I'd post some of my experiences regarding the durability of Tough Country bumpers. Hopefully this might help someone who is in the market for aftermarket bumpers. My dad bought the truck (see sig) brand new in 2003, and since he owned a hunting company at the time and was always on a ranch he put front and rear TC Deluxe bumpers on it right after he got it.

When I was about 10 years old, we were driving home from duck hunting one morning and a truck pulled out in front of us, blocking both lanes. My dad swerved to try and avoid him but ended up hitting the driver's side door at about 45 mph. The other guy's door caved in and wouldn't open so he had to crawl out the passenger side while all that happened to our truck was a dent in the front corner of the bumper smaller than a baseball.

The truck got passed on to me a little over 2 years ago when I turned 16 and so far I've only had one (hilarious) experience. On May 2, 2013 (my birthday), I pulled into my parking space in the school parking lot. As my friend and I were walking out of the parking lot towards the school we heard a loud noise behind us that sounded like a car wreck and we turned around to see what had happened. I turned around and saw my truck rocking back and forth pretty hard and there was a girl in a 2012 Mustang at a dead stop about 5-10 feet past my truck. I put two and two together and figured she must've hit my truck since it sticks out ALOT farther than the other sedans and SUV's around it. So I walked over to my truck to check the damage and was in shock at what I saw and honestly all I could do was laugh when I saw her car. I always knew my truck was a tank but never realized how much of a badass she was until this happened. I was pretty proud to say the least.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. She had at least a few thousand dollars worth of damage. What you see on my bumper is only HER PAINT! There are maybe 3 or 4 extremely small scratches on my bumper from that incident.

All in all, I'm pretty impressed with TC bumpers and while there are TONS of options when it comes to aftermarket bumpers these days, TC has my loyalty.

Here's the pics:

You can see the dent in the front bumper in the 2nd corner from the left:

Sheesh...that was a nice Mustang. When I was in high school, almost everyone drove 15-20 year old beaters.

Looking at the damage on the Mustang, it appears the girl driving it... Hit the side of your bumper, clearly making a large dent in the front... Then, gave it more gas, turned more and did damage to the door and scrapped all the way back to the rear quarter panel.

Wow! I see zero reason, why she (even being young) should continue driving at all without some serious work on her skills.

Did you at least take her on a date??? I'm guessing not because I wouldn't of been able to talk to her through my outrageous fits of laughter

It seems that her daddy could afford a nice car for her, but sadly there was no money left over for drivers ed

Never give a decent car to a first time driver...I am sure that lesson has been learned now.

Take her on a date..least she could do for leaving white paint.

X2 Scott.

She owes at least the date for leaving the paint. Be sure to bring a wing man for the (brunette) passenger.

Haha I didn't take her on a date but since I'm friends with some of her friends we've hung out a couple times since it happened. It's pretty awkward mainly because the whole time I'm around her I'm just focusing on containing my laughter.

It's also pretty hard to start a conversation when the only thing you can think of to say sounds something like "So...you run into any parked trucks lately?" lol
