FTE has inspired me to resurrect my nearly completed 1971 Ford F250, 360ci, C6, 2WD from it's 15+ years of indoor storage and inactivity. It's an original California Truck and, now that the kids are all grown and married I think it's time for me to play!

I bought the truck from a guy that moved here from California in the late 80's. I took it home and immediately tore it apart. Frame done &new king pins in. Cab, Box & Fenders (all rock solid) were stripped to bare metal by carefully sandblasting, and then professionally prepared and primed by a buddy. Front Fenders, Cab and Box were jambed in a Light Bright Teal Metallic Paint, and reassembled.

Complete rebuild on factory 360ci engine, and C6 transmission.

You people here are an awesome bunch. Many of my vehicle hobby buddies have either passed away, lost interest, or moved on to other things. I have three son-in-laws but they have no interest whatsoever in vehicles, not to mention the fact that they are about as handy as a cub bear wearing boxing gloves!

I'll get some pics soon and post progress.

I live in the Iron Range area near Virginia, it's -28 below here now (10:30pm). Yup, we are looking at -40 for tomorrow night. Just returned back home from snowplowing a couple of commercial sites. My Super Duty was a little stiff indeed.

I'll get some pics of the truck posted soon. It's currently hibernating in one of my storage buildings, and I've got to get it home in my heated garage.

Recently found a 1972 f-250 Highboy farm truck for sale in Nebraska. I've always considered going that route. My 71' body on that 72' 4X4 chassis would be sharp.

-22 degree there now?

Its a balmy 60 here right now. 74 deg tomorrow.

Thought it was saying -40 for tonight there but now showing low of -24

My wifes grandfather lived there. He died a year ago, think he was 102 yrs old. You probably knew him . . . Most everyone there did.
