Supercharged 6.2L Dyno Run
#16
It's a '99 360 Modena. Another FTE member owns it and was nice enough to let me ride with him.
Nope, and that's because I don't know what the issue is. The first time it went in they were convinced that it was an improperly worn ring and pinion. A thousand dollar repair later the noise was slightly better, but quickly got worse as the new gears wore in. It went in on Wednesday morning and I haven't heard anything since then.
I'll probably call them on Monday but I'm in no real hurry. I don't need the truck for anything in the near future, and I'm enjoying the hell out of 40-45 MPG even if it's in the ugliest thing on the road.
But that doesn't explain the issue with the rear diff.

I heard there was a super duty trying to pull an 8,000 lb trailer up a 8% grade with 60 mph cross winds and it was struggling so he hooked on the F-one fity and pull past 3 Peterbilts with KOH CATs but as he pass the last Pete the rear end started howling.

I'm howling right now too

The worst part is know who's setting up your rear end. 99.9% of auto techs are parts changers with minimal experience, heck just look at the service stories around here.

I'm curious to know what makes you say that? If 483 was the HP at the wheels, then you need to factor in drivetrain loss. Lets say that you'd lose 20% from the crank to the wheels, that would make crank output around 580 HP. I would call 165+ HP increase pretty decent over stock.

Maybe we can try to reel in this thread -
make it about this dyno video and not another EcoBoost thread (please?)
make it about the Ford 6.2 in the video and not the "every day common" LS motors that are making 500whp with H/C/I/E or even cam only. There are a million LS boards that you can watch those dyno videos on.
This truck falls inline with what the other Ford 6.2s are doing with unopened motors - stock truck + supercharger = ~500rwhp.
Had this thread not derailed so much - maybe we could have gotten more information on the build, the blower, or the tuner. OP said Eaton, which means probably the Roush (TVS2300) since they are based on the Eaton roots design and I don't know of anything else out for the 6.2 ATM with Eaton "roots" (no pun intended).
Some of us are actually interested - in this motor - in this truck - making this power.
