I have a 70 f100 with a 300 I6. Can someone verify if this is the correct part number for my engine. The part number on the stick reads: C5TE-6750-C.
Thanks
Jim
Jim. It looks like it is the correct one. My 64-72 Ford truck slide was too scratched for me to check it quickly. Follow me on this one. I had to be a Sherlock Holmes.
Back in the day Ford's part numbers went hand in hand with the engineering numbers like the one you have off your dipstick. So your C5TE6750C I figured would have originally cross over to part number C5TZ6750C. Ford replaced C5TZ6750C with D7TZ6750C. This D7TZ number is a Dent part number. So I checked application for D7TZ6750C. It used to fit:
1973-1979 4X2 F150/F250/F350 and buses with 300 L.D and H.D.I6's
1974-1979 F100 with 300 L.D.
So, I have to say C5TE6750C is the correct one for a Bump with a 300 I6.
Thanks Jeff, still trying to figure out why the truck is puking oil up through the dip stick tube. Wanted to make sure I didn't have too much oil. Maybe time for a rebuilt.
Have you checked for blow-by? With it running remove the oil cap. Blow-by will be pressure coming out of the engine where the cap was. Or a blocked PCV system can cause problems. You might do a wet and dry compression test. Dry 1st to check overall engine and then wet to check the rings.
