That is going to be so awesome when done. Was thinking now would be the time to get all the measurements on the bad gears. So later you can make a new set once the temps are in.

If I fix the gears right the first time, I won't need new gears. They would take a ton of time to make new ones........

We finally got the whole thing apart yesterday, so the final pieces can get stripped in the hot tank. Hope to start painting all the parts in the next couple of days, then on to putting it all back together again!

Even more pictures........

Almost every part has been hot tanked now, and time to start painting!

The three gears are the ones that I'll have to repair. They have been repaired once before as you can see, but they were repaired with BRASS! I'll weld them up and regrind the teeth........

Next photos should be of all the PAINTED parts, then on to assembly!

Thanks Rob. I'm very happy with this old machine. They made things right back then.

Started painting parts yesterday!

Evening Charlie, and thanks! Yes, Melody is going to paint the raised lettering on the door. Should look sweet! I just can't believe what good shape this mill is in. They sure knew how to build equipment back then...

The matching lettering will be SWEEEEEEET, along with the matching gear-shift levers!

Though they may be some of the oldest machine shop equipment we've seen in a long time, they certainly will be among the most capable!
