Stupility and Retardication

Stupility and Retardication
Allow me to define the two terms:
Stupility- Humilating Stupidity and or humbly stupid behavior.
Retardication- Intoxication leading to retardation and or intellectually compromised behavior.
Now these two can go hand in hand and lead to some embarassing and or catostrophic breakage. So maybe in this thread we can discuss oversights and stories leading to the above situations.
I'll start. Two years ago I installed my front driveshafts high quality spicer 1410 series on both ends working wel within their angular capabilities. One of the u bolts on the t case end was too short to get good thread engagement with a lock washer so I just lock-titednthe nuts on and forgot about it. Two years passed and I forgot I had even done that way back. My front hubs were locked in on accident the other day while driving down the road so my from shaft was spinning. All of a sudden at 55 mph I heard an awful racket and saw my front driveshaft bouncing across the road behind me. I pulled over to see a broken yoke on my front axle and a tranny gushing fluid on the ground.
Now I'm looking at about 250$ In replacement parts due to neglecting spend a few minutes checking the tightness of my drivetrain bolts and failing to use the correct fastener... There's my story of the week, I didn't take any pics. All try load some up later.

i did an oil change on a mack truck around 20 years ago.
took the oil hose, set the nozzle for 8 gallons, put it in the oil fill, and walked away. after it stopped pumping, i walked back over to the oil bay to see an oil slick flowing out of the garage.
yup, you guessed correctly,
i forgot to put the drain plug back in the pan.

When I first threw my new 400 in my Bronco, I had some test rubber fuel lines that were just too long. You ever forget, happened to me...I picked the most convenient rig in the driveway...sans Bronco...get cruising 70-75 down the highway, start smelling crazy gas...then start seeing smoke, then the Bronco dies. The long hose met fan blade in several spots.
One time decided to use a 1/2" ratchet to tighten down a water neck...finesse isn't a virtue of mine. Cracked the neck and broke the bolt off beneath the block. That was a fun fix on a side street in college.
I don't remember what I was doing, or why...but the first time I had the front of an engine on one of my rigs, I was rolling the thing over by the cam bolt, instead of the crank...cam bolt snapped off. The old man taught me a very valuable lesson on left handed drill bits.
Well...unless she can get the chrome off a trailer hitch.

Back about 1989 ( wow those numbers exist ) I was doing stupid stuff with buddies , Might have been smoking something . I decided to take a ride on my motorcycle ! A 650 Suzukie and a 6 strand barbed wire fence does strange things to the human body !!! Well years later .About 2009 , no smoke ... Honda 4 wheeler gave me 18 staples in the head ! Oh heck ... Hold my beer ... watch this !
