F250 and F350 are the same with different stickers?

Nope.

• F-Super Duty Monobeam Coil Spring Rates (F250/350 4x4)
• Front GAWR Rating Current Vehicle Spring Coil P/N 5C34-5310-xxx
• 4000lb. 5C34-5310-AHC
• 4400lb. 5C34-5310-AGC
• 4800lb. 5C34-5310-AFC
• 5200lb. 5C34-5310-AEC
• 5600lb. 5C34-5310-ADC
• 6000lb. 5C34-5310-ACC

Can anyone explain why people continue to post that these are the same trucks and that you can save money by getting a 250 rather than a 350?
Really?
A truck with a 9900 lb GVWR is the SAME truck that has an 11500 lb GVWR?
Laughable and truly ignorant of the truth.

An overload or helper spring, and lower gears, I think. Now DRW will be different, just because of more tires=more load rating.

Better payload, increased springs, and higher towing capacity. I don't think it's something to get upset at it. Both have a purpose. Best of luck whatever you choose, let us know!

They are still very very very similar. Springs are different. Is that it? Sounds like you could turn a 250 into a 350 with some springs.

A lot of people assume it is a much heavier duty truck, like with a heavier frame, heavier axles, trans, brakes, etc. Not really true.

Springs are interchangeable. My 08 F250 had 6K springs on the front. So it all depends on how the truck was optioned from the factory.

It's probably best to just think of it like an option package, just like Lariat, or King Ranch.

But those ratings are for both the 250/350 4X4 maybe I'm missing something.

When I was doing some research on this subject for my truck, 2006 350 CCLB. The diffrence between this and my last truck 2005 250 CCLB. The 350 has a slightly larger axle shaft and 37 splines not 35. The front axle/springs had where the same. And listed in the charts from Ford the rear are also the same although my 350 has the overload. I was able to find the very long pdf file doing a google search that had the build specs listed for all the trucks for a model year.

it's not hard to understand. take a stock 2005 f-250 with the 9900 GVWR. Add a set of 250 dollar over the leaf helper springs rated at 2500. and now you have leaf springs that look a lot like f-350 springs and the GVWR of 12000.

In the SRW world, they are effectively the same truck, with different options and add-ons available on either truck from the Ford catalog. (DRW being different)

A lot of the reason is plating and insuring costs, and limitations such as driver qualifications required in a commercial environment, E.T.C.

They are effectively the same truck.

I'm curious, what is the importance of this question?

this has been misprinted for a long long time. the 37 spline axle shaft comes in when the dual wheel rear axle comes in. The single wheel rear axles are identical for 250 and 350. If you want proof, look up the axle shaft itself. The part numbers are the same.

This is the biggest reason. Some states even base emissions checks around vehicle weight rating. To make this even MORE confusing Ford had a 10k package for the F350 trucks to avoid those "extra fees" due to high GVWR.

"I'm curious, what is the importance of this question?"
Conversation.
Why would Ford build the 250 and the 350 when they could have an SD with GVWR's from 9900 to 14000 lbs?
Why does the 350 cost more if it gets the same 10k rating?
Why does Ford build a frame and put an 1800 lb payload sticker on the truck and then put a 4400 lb sticker on the one right next to it?
The frame rails on 150's are not all the same. Ford builds different frames depending on the ratings.
