Dual Tanks.....Need a Part.....Econoline...

All,
I posted this request in the truck area as I remember that someone knew a better source for a dual tank reservoir (a.k.a. manual tank selector valve) out in the truck area. Basically the small plastic tank that has 6 connections into it. Its mounted (external to any tank) just before the high pressure pump and based on the selected tank/pump the proper fuel will be delivered to the engine from correct tank. It also prevents backfilling between tanks etc.

After bypassing mine over the weekend, the vehicle is now running good.

What was probably causing my issue was when I opened the bottom of the reservoir.. broken O-ring pieces actually fell out. I also thought there was supposed to be a small fuel filter (internal to the reservoir part) of some kind in this thing but I do not see anything resembling a small filter?

So anyways, looking for the part number/availability/price/best place to get this part for my 1991 Econoline (dual tank) Van?

Thanks in advance
Chris

LMC truck has what you need. It's not cheap though!

I just went through this on my '87 blue truck with dual tanks. I looked EVERYWHERE for a reservoir and the only place I could find it was LMC truck.

I chose to go with the single reservoir and use only one tank on this truck. The single one was $80 plus shipping. The dual one is $250 plus shipping. They don't have a picture in the catalog of this one. When I got my reservoir it was NOS - original Motorcraft part, I was pretty amazed. It made me feel a little better about the money.

Go to their website at lmctruck.com then go to the 80-96 Ford catalog. What you want is on the bottom of page 55.

Good luck!

Not sure if it is the same part on your 91 Econoline as the late 80's F-Series or not; but highntight posted a couple of links that had some in the last few days, for under $200.00. The links are down around the eighth or ninth post or so.

Hope this helps,
