I haven't had to touch mine since I got the truck in 2013 amazingly enough.... even the adjustors... but they are finally ready for an adjustment. I have to put the pedal to the floor to get it to hold just a little.

I was going to do them, but it is cold and snowy and I don't want to bother with it lol. When it warms up or I can get to the heated garage, I will replace them.

I did the brakes Saturday morning. Definitely in need of rear rotors. Rotors were junk, one slide pin was siezed, the pads were not wearing evening and one was even stuck to the stainless sliders in the bracket.

I replaced the brackets, and 2 of the slide pins with new. The pad/rotor kit came with everything else including boots and pad lubricant for the stainless sliders.

Just placed a $300 order from AMSOIL last night since it was $5 shipping weekend. We are traveling at the end of next month, so fluid changes all around for Big Blue and the wife's GV. F250 is getting oil/filter, t-case, and rear end. I am saving the front for later. The wife's is getting transmission, t-case, front diff, and rear diff. There are a few other goodies in there too, but that is the bulk of it. More to come

Nice job! I love the looks of those brakes, let us know how they work. I need to do brakes on my truck and I am trying to find what to go with since the truck is always towing

They have been really nice thus far. It has been so long since I have had smooth brakes. I have the same rotors on the front. I put them on last fall and they are still very smooth. The prices are good, the quality seems to be there, and the rotors are coated so they won't rust on the non contact areas. All of that is a win for me.

New brakes have been spectacular! I forgot what it is like to have smooth deceleration.

Last night I ordered a new steering stabilizer to replace the worn factory one and a new gasket for the 10.5 diff cover so I can change the fluid. I also got some clear clearance light lenses and LED bulbs off eBay. It's one of those little things I have been meaning to do finally said I am doing it.

On another note, wife blew out a speaker in her car with the new head unit. I said when I installed it to let me put speakers in it too, the factory ones will not survive. She said no. I was right So those are also on their way.

And finally, I have been searching for a paint matched hood to replace my peeling clear coat one. I have found 2 of them now and they were sold to less than $75 before I even had a change to get them. After discussing it with the Mrs., she wants to have the paint fixed properly. So I am going to get a quote soon and probably get it done in June/July time frame.

Very busy weekend

So for the Wife's Grand Vitara.... She got new front speakers installed. Rears are on the workbench... just need time to install them. She also got a transmission fluid change with 12 quarts of AMSOIL, transfer case fluid, and front and rear differential fluid. She is already for her upcoming road trip to D.C.

As for the F250, I finally changed the marker lamps out for LED and clear lenses.

Then I got to the steering stabilizer. I had to press a pushing out of the old one to put in the new one. Not sure why it did not come with one.

This tightened my steering up nicely. It is slightly larger in diameter and does not have 128k miles on it

Next was oil change. Only drained 3 quarts in 8500 miles. I do not have a dipstick to keep an eye on level, so I figure from here on out, I need to add a quart every 3k. Once I do manifolds, I will replace the busted dipstick tube. So I added 5 quarts of AMSOIL 5w-20 and 1 qt of Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer.

After this was transfer case fluid. Plugs came out easy with 3/8" allen socket. Drained and refilled with 2 quarts of AMSOIL OE transmission fluid (I know about the whole Mercon/Ford Transfer Case Fluid debacle), that is why I went full synthetic that meets a wide variety of standards.

Finally was the rear end. Fill plug came out nice and easy as did the cover bolts. I didn't realize it was sealed with RTV from the factory. I opted for a Fel-Pro gasket this time. Time will tell if that was a wise decision....

Everything checked out. There was a bit of metal flake in the fluid and on the cover, but nothing looked concerning. I replaced the fluid with 4 quarts of AMSOIL Severe Gear 75w-140. Since I don't have L/S, no need for friction modifier. Hopefully the next time I work on the rear end, I will be installing a Detroit True-Trac

Any way, minus the washer fluid, I am about ready for camp next weekend and a trip to Solomon's Island Maryland the following week to take my Grandma to visit family. Should be a really fun trip

Now just to find the time to wash/wax/ and polish everything before the trips

And I got the first coat on paint repair... $1200 for top of passenger doors, hood ,and tops of fenders. I am going to get another quote some time soon. There is another place I want to get a price from as well. I noticed today that the few rust spots on the roof are getting bigger so I am thinking it will need painted as well. This is turning into an expensive affair...

To aid in keeping an engine in it get the rest of the dipstick tube from a junk yard use about 1 1/4" of 3/8 metal fuel line with the ends chamfered stick the tube together with that that way you can at least keep it in the ball park

That's a good idea. I'll have to look close though... my concern is that it broke at the manifold. I am not sure there is enough metal to clamp and I do not know how fuel line will hold up next to a hot exhaust.
