v10 vs pds oem exhaust
#2
I have a 6.0 f350, replaced the exhaust with one from gibson, much better, less restrictive. mine is turbo back with cat.
Only thing is it is a 3.0 inch vs the 4.0 inch I put on. Dont know what size you have now. You can go up to 25% largere to get some performance per a custon muffler shop, anything bigger will not help.

again need to know size of your current exhaust, then plan on 25% oversize at max. On my 94 ranger I had a free flow exhaust made up from the Y manifold back. He used a magnaflow muffler, a free flow cat (aftermarket) and kept the tubing as straight with minimized bends for good flow. Yes it seems to have made a difference but I also have a free flow airfilter assembly to get the air in the exhaust gets it out. If I remember the exhaust went up to 2 1/2 inch from about a 2inch oem.

Possibly. But probably higher up in the rpm range with a loss down low. Without a before and after chassis dyno runs you are not going to know for sure.
If you want to go with say a 3.5" or 4" pipe put it after the muffler.(tailpipe only) Exhaust gases slow down after they go through the muffler and the larger tailpipe diameter can actually help. Banks does this with their 2V V10 exhausts.
My exhaust is 3" from the cat flange to the tailpipe but the entire system is mandrel bent. Most exhaust shops don't have mandrel benders due to cost so a 3" pipe usually ends up 2 5/16" even with a rather shallow 30 or 45 degree bend.
