Looking to purchase 2013 6.7 diesel have questions..
I am in the market to purchase a new truck. I am currently looking at the 2013 Lariat diesel. I drove the gasser first, but after driving the diesel I dunno why I would buy the gasser. The diesel was a MUCH SMOOTHER ride. Only thing im curious about is what kind of issues you guys are having?? I owned an 04 6.0 liter and we all know what issues those had. I don't really tow too often except my 22ft boat which is about 4-4500lbs. I just want a new toy. Any help or info on issues/concerns you are having on the 6.7if anything would be much appreciated!!

superdutyon37s, I share your interest and concern. I started a thread on the Super Duty forum, in the hopes of collecting all the 'common' suspension, steering, and vibration issues, that members have been describing and discussing: http://https://www.ford-trucks.com/f...-maladies.html
For what it's worth - I too plan on buying the 6.7. If your primary concern is more diesel engine related, I can at least state that you have less to worry about in that department, from all that I've read, than you do or will have with vibration, wheel bounce, and other driving related issues. That's where I think most of the problems reside.
The idea is to create a list for new buyers like you and me, so that we know what we're facing. The intent is not to go and debate or try and solve what is already going on in other threads. Good luck!

Great advice Backbeat!
SDon37's, I pull a 22' Supra all over the country side and log over 100 hours every season on the water. I have yet to own a truck the pulls and handles the pull the way the 'Duty 6.7 does. Most of the time I forget I have something behind me. The bonus part is, my wife doesn't mind driving now = nappy time. All the majors are making great pickup's now, and they just keep getting better. For pulling, diesel is the bomb! 26,000 and still smilin'

area's of concern are going to be in the maintance and fuel areas nowadays. No longer can you neglect a modern diesel and have it stay running.
So figure/find out what kind of maintance items to look out for and how often.
I am a firm believer of weekly fluid checks and visuals.
When on the road I pop the hood at every fuel stop and do visuals.
Oil changes for me are around 5K. (there is a oil change message to go by though)
Fuel filters for me at 10K (minder for that as well)
Coolant checks and such.

As a 6 day owner of a 6.7L, but driver of several in my work(usually cab/chassis variety) I can tell you that this engine, with the reputation on here, is why i bought the truck.(please don't tell my wife that!) I had a 6.4L for 3 years without any problems but only had a tad over 21000 miles on it. Pulling was no problem and am very anxious to pull with the 6.7L. This truck is a very nice surprise over the 6.4. Power, economy(so far) and ride is incredible. Good luck in your decision.

Thanks fellas! I test drove both the other day and the 6.7 def has much better ride quality and not so jerky like the 6.2. The truck rides like a Lexus! Def excited to make the purchase in the next few weeks. Im looking at 54,000 for the 2013 with 0% financing (crew cab lariat)... Anybody comfortable in telling me what they paid? Seems like a fair price but I always like to get a steal!!

Yes it is!! I believe right around 60k... 5400 was selling price. I feel like I could go another $1,500 but not sure. Actually I think with the rebate they are offering now I was at 52 or 52.5k...

i have had my 11 3 years now, I am at 50k i drive the truck everyday, about 385 miles a week just for work. I had a radiator replaced around 38-39k and had a minor 4x4 switch problem 2 years ago was no big deal. Love the truck no regrets what so ever i would do it over again, truck pulls great. good luck with sounds like a good deal.

Yea I am working with another dealer now on one. This guy says he can do a little bit better but they actualyl they have the truck on their lot. The original place I went the other day had to ****** it from another dealer so I am led to believe that they can't do as well on price if the truck isn't on their lot.

I just recently bought my '13 dually with a sticker of 60.5k for 48.9k. You should be able to knock them down a few thousand more. Running a NADA used '13 vehicle value, I came up with 51k.
ETA: If you are pushing for 0% financing, you lose 1,500 rebate. Over the long term, that's a good savings, however.
