Small status update I apologize I've been very busy between work and school and apartment hunting and working on the 95 that the F250 has been neglected lately. I ordered some more interior SEM Landau black paint and will be finishing up the final few dash pieces that need painting as well as the door panels.

Here is what's left to finally wrap this project up:
-Steering Column Shroud
-Paint engraved name plate
-Run wiring for camera's
-Run wiring for bed lights
-Get Recon Illuminated sill plates to prevent scuff damage on plastic sills
-Mount fuse panel boxes and run wires
-Wire Dimmer Switch
-Wire Headlight switch with carling switch
-New Gauge Cluster
-Rebuild sub box with 3rd subwoofer (hell yeah lol)
-Laser cut 3 10" acrylic rings with LEDs to light up subwoofers when on (this one will be cool I will take a video of the process I do for it)

I am also in the process of replacing the brake lines, installing an Excursion fuel tank and retrofitting my headlights lol those will all be documented on my build thread but as you can see I have a lot on my plate so making progress towards completion is going very slow lol.

I look forward to seeing more progress. Have you posted any updates to the 95 build thread?

Ok guys I'm getting back at this this weekend finally. I have been thinking since I've been away from the truck for so long and i think it will be best if i can relocate the fuse panel to a different location preferably behind the rear bench or maybe in the center console. There are a few things I'm concerned about in doing this though.

Console Concerns:
-Running wires unnoticed under scuff plate will be nearly impossible since there is not enough space with all the speaker and amp wires.
- Physically getting fuses in and out will become an issue even though I've never blown a fuse aside when i am working on something electrical and figuring out the circuit.

Rear Bench Concerns:
-I will be running 3 subs will the cause issues if it is mounted to the back wall?
-Wires would get run up through the A-pillar and across the roof will this get too hot? I can shield the wires if necessary better.

I had also though of some sort of overhead console that could house the panel but not sure how i would do this. Both rear seats have an amp under them so that is out unfortunately.

By relocating it i will not have issues with the steering column ignition forcing the cover into the dash lower cover and then i will be able to later install my EDGE EAS system under there with lots of room to manage the sensor wiring and such for my gauges. This also re-leaves the worry of the brake pedal hitting the fuse panel and such as well.

I'm baaack!

I swapped the rear door panels today, it required me to remove a few clips and hooks on the upper and lower halves which i will have to compensate for.

I also removed the 08 super duty wheel and i am going to install a 04-08 F150 wheel so that i can align the wheel properly so it is not slightly angled anymore. I am goin gto also create a custom fiberglassed console so i can install a 05-09 Mustang automatic floor shifter so that i can remove my column shift. The column shift is too close to the dash and makes it so i cannot see the right gauges in my cluster anymore. I will be installing an 07+expedition column shroud so that it will not have an opening for the column shift however i will need to cut a small square hole for my hazard switch. The new plan for the shround mount is to make a sheetmetal adapter plate the will utilize the old holes and then have new holes for the new shroud.

Also one benefit to the custom console is i can move my fuse box to the console instead of the dash which will allow me to have plenty of clearance between the column and brake pedal and allow me to have space for anything else i might add at a later point. Also not sure if anybudy saw the white noise sema truck build but i want to do something similar with the speakers in the doors.

Got my new wheel and expedition cover in today, to my surprise the back of the wheel and the shroud look like they are meant for each other!

Another small update, i am not going to use teh rotary switch and dimmer switch set up anymore and i am going to get some Carling switches to take their place because they are just simple to wire up and get everything to work properly. I currently do not have a dimmer switch picked out but i always keep it on high anyway so i may leave it out or add it at another time, we will see what happens.

I am starting to think about going full custom center console because trying to incorporate my current 08 style one is proving to be extremely tough and a full custom one gives me a lot more options to play with. I will post some concept stuff soon!

I have been bad at separating out my thread between this and my build thread but I am going to try and revive this thread again. For those of you who were not following my build thread I obviously wen way off track once winter set in and now am working of my bed, frame everything but since I have been acquiring some parts for the dash swap as well.

I realized the column shifter is very close to the dash and to prevent paint damage to the cluster cover and so I could better see the cluster I am removing the column shift and replacing it with a Mustang floor shifter, the shifter will be housed in a 2015 Expedition console which I got off Ebay for $200 shipped not a bad deal IMO (the 08 console is going into the 95 F150).

Electronically I will be hooking up the Montecalvo Edition panel probably in the next few days as I will try and pull the center panel tonight. I am going to sway out the 08+ headlight and dimmer controls for some Carling switches instead at least for now since my theme will flow well with them. I already got the switches a few months back but have not made any progress on installing them yet. I may try and make a custom dimmer switch out of the old 04 switch by cutting the dimmer board out and housing it in the Carling panel. Also I will be moving the Fuse panel to the glove box as well as my GPS and Camera unit, my reasoning for this is the Expedition console is plenty big enough for anything I need to store and I never use my glove box except for napkins for my Fiancé when she... spills something lol. Once this is done the Dash is ready electronically except for the F150 wheel cruise control which will be much easier than the 08+ wheel since the F150 wheel has the same style connectors and spline.

cosmetically I am going to make a 3D printed adapter plate to mate the Expedition column cover to the 99-07 column and then paint it as well as the wheel which I am painting Gray on top where it is currently orange. The expedition console will also be painted in the same theme and I will post pictures of it and the shifter later on tonight. I have also decided to switch to a new headliner which I will wrap in suede myself like before in order to make the corners by the pillar covers match better. This headliner will also have the provisions for a 2013+ F650 overhead console which will house some airbag and air tank gauges as well as 4 Carling switches for the bags and a winch. I am also going to get a custom 99-04 SD cluster gauge face made and adapt it to the 08+ cluster lens which should be fairly easy. Once this is all done the trucks interior should be finished

Matt.. I just bought a 2013-15 dash.. what do I need to do to make it work as far as wiring goes into my 2002 Excursion. Same with door panels? Are you blending new harness with old? I'm not techy to really follow what you're doing but I can understand enough to tell those who will be doing the work...

Update from today, I pulled the 08 console and rested the 2015 expedition console on the floor, I will probably build brackets for it instead of using the current 08 console brackets. Resting on top of the current brackets sits it about 2" too high but as it is right now the angle of the front of the console lines up perfectly with the angle of the dash. I will remove the cup holder and console brackets line everything up and start from there tomorrow.

pics I am officially making this the number 1 project to wrap up before everything else lol. damn this iPhone takes nice pictures...loads better than my galaxy did lol

Found this just now and I think it's the solution to my dimmer switch dilemma, with this I can run my carling switches for headlights, parking lights, some light and my dimmer. It's a deckhand dimmer made by blue seas and looks like it will work well if I convert my other lights to LEDs which I plan to anyway.
